Face it. She's cool.

So there’s this gal, dancing around Montreal with her hair in cute plaits, rocking a Mickey Mouse knitted sweater and rapping some tongue-in-cheek lyrics over an angry electro beat.

It could only be Azealia Banks - WMJ's newest girl crush. We think she's seriously cool. And you don't just need to take our word for it; she was voted NME's Coolest Person of 2011 - now that really is cool!

So why so special? Well, there are many things to love about Miss Banks - her ever-changing brightly coloured weave, her vintage cartoon tops, her intriguing sound and controversial lyrics, the way she perfectly walks the tightrope between confident and cocky, her ever expanding list of celeb friends (Kanye, Lagerfeld and Del Rey to name but a few), the fact she has a cat called Lucifer, and that her Mickey Mouse jumper from the '212' video has become so famous, it actually has it's own Twitter account (@AzealiasSweater).

The knitted masterpiece in question even prompted fashion royalty Karl Lagerfeld to send Azealia his own version of the jumper, emblazoned instead with his own face, as opposed to Disney's frontman (/mouse) - Cheesy? A little. Conceited? Probably. Cool? HELL YEAH! I'm sorry, but if Karl Lagerfeld sends you any kind of gift it's pretty awesome, but your own personal knit - it's the stuff dreams are made of!

Azealia tweeted a picture of her with said jumper – it’s fab (see above) - and has been snapped in a few other natty knits that we really do love, so we’ve included those here too, oh and one other picture just because in it, she looks, well, cool.

Definitely one to keep an eye on for 2012, we're completely smitten. I wonder if we knit her a jumper with our faces on it, she'll cherish it as much as KL's…

Diamond Lil

There was only one show for us at London Fashion Week – actually that’s a lie, there were loads but this was the show we were most looking forward too – Sister by Sibling.

We’ve written about Sibling’s menswear before, but this show was all about Diamond Lil – ‘the romantic other half to Sibling’s Marked Man this season’ – and it was nothing short of blindin'.

Colourful clashes, fair isle leopard prints (it was ALL about the leopard, which will never grow old in our opinion), cable knit neon motifs  and the beginning of a new love affair with Lurex – on models resembling sequinned mannequins in glitterball masks . Oh, and pom poms, you know how much we love pom poms.

We loved how everything worked together but if you’re not ready to brave the day in a sequin mask and a mind blowing colour clash, do not fear.

We took a peek at some of the looks deconstructed and you’ll be pleased to know each piece is 100% wearable whether you’re heading to a hip East End pub (that’s where Diamond Lil hangs out, natch) or to the ummm… Library…? If you still have one and it hasn’t been ConDemd.

And with a few more trips to the gym (may need to up it from once a month..ish) we’re willing to give these a go, even if it’s just for those nights alone at home dancing on the mezzanine, pretending to be Rihanna. Everyone has those, right?

And if you’re really teeny…

Cool Joules

WMJ was first introduced to Joules by our pony loving, show jumping friend who owns tweed jackets and riding boots to die for and we swear when jodpurs had their revival she was solely responsible. Not that we ever dared wear a pair.

Joules are so perfectly and stylishly British and their knitwear this season is spot on.

This week we noticed the lovely @LA_FAIRY_AIR  had added this amazing flying ducks sweater to her winter wishlist:

MALLARD

And it doesn't stop there, check these out:

PATCH

SILFIELD

HARE

And this isn't a jumper, it isn't even knitwear, but we want one.

TWEED MUFFLE

In fact, we strongly suggest you have a look at their entire Tweed Collection.

Keep up to date with cool Joules on Twitter and Facebook.

Poncho Honchos

A wise, fictional, man named Vince Noir once said it's impossible to be unhappy in a poncho and judging by these beauties from Boohoo.com he was probably 100% correct.

Amazing, Grace.

We found Grace and her amazing embriodered cardigan watching Manchester United in our local.

A charity shop bargain apparently.

London Fashion Week: Pick of the Knits Part 1 - Meadham Kirchhoff

Meadham Kirchhoff looked like they had the MOST fun at London Fashion Week, and topped their show off with a troupe of Courney Love clones.

Here's our pick of the pops and the scene we wish we'd got a part in.

Stag Do

We won't lie, it took us a little while to get back on board with Matalan  - blame the childhood 'essentials' trips for school shirts and long socks which, ironically, we'd happily wear now - but we've grown up and no longer need bribing out of the house with a Maccy D's because Matalan seem to get better every season (we thank @sarahs_scribble for the regular updates) and this A/W, they have nailed their knits...
