Sunday 15th April
Secret 7"s
Ah, my first 7” record that I bought with my own money. Woolworths, Bromsgrove, 1988.

I still own it, I still love it and I still play it on my new-fangled record player that lets me convert all my crackly vinyl into Mp3s. Not that I’ve actually done that yet, I want to get my records out and play them!

Sucker for a limited editions.
Vinyl may be almost gone - in the big scheme of things – but it is certainly not forgotten and Saturday April 21st will be the 4th annual Record Store Day in the UK, a day dedicated to celebrating the art of music. And with thanks to Secret 7” – a project brought together by Universal Music UK, Manchester based design agency Music and Teenage Cancer Trust – art and music will be meeting in the most unique way.

The Cure, Noah & The Whale, Florence + The Machine, Ben Howard, DJ Shadow, CSS, Bombay Bicycle Club have each selected one of their own tracks and Secret 7” have set a brief for creatives and music enthusiasts across the world to design a 7” sleeve for their chosen one.

MAJOR school girl crush.
From Wednesday 18th April the sleeves will be exhibited at The Idea Generation Gallery in Shoreditch* and on Saturday 21st April (Record Store Day, in case you forgot) the sleeves, with the records in them of course, will be available to buy from the gallery**.
Now, this is where the Secret bit comes in, the records will be put in their correct sleeve but depending on the artist’s interpretation you might not necessarily know what’s inside, IT’S A SECRET! But what you do know is that you’ll be the proud owner of a 100% unique record sleeve and limited edition vinyl and most importantly, you’ll be making a valuable contribution to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Here at Where’s Me Jumper, we’re all about the one-offs and while, sadly, the Wee Papa Girl Rappers aren’t taking part this time WMJ has designed a sleeve and, sat alongside designs by the bands themselves, Michael Spencer Jones, Stylorouge and Central Station, we think we’re in pretty amazing company. See if you can spot our sleeve at the exhibition…
You can find out more about the project here and follow Secret 7” on Twitter.
*Exhibition runs from 18th – 22nd April at The Idea Generation Gallery, Shoreditch. Opening times 10am – 6pm Daily
**Records available to buy from Saturday 21st April through to close on Sunday 22nd April, for a minimum donation to Teenage Cancer Trust of £40.
